St. Nicholas Church can be seen across the Salzach River in Oberndorf, Austria. Stille Nacht was first sung in the church at Midnight Mass in 1818. The church was torn down in the early part of the 20th century since its foundations were crumbling from the constant flooding of the Salzach.
