FOR YOUR NEXT MEETING...

The Life and teachings of mystic and active contemplative, Titus Brandsma, an illumination for contemporary Catholics.

Distinguished journalist and professor, Blessed Titus Brandsma, O.Carm. continues to speak to the hearts of Carmelites today, a half century after his death.

The Catholic University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, where Brandsma served as Rector Magnificus in 1932 and 1933, has honored his memory by dedicating a special center for research of his works. There are many schools, libraries and institutions around the world that have recognized his contribution to journalism, education and the practice and study of mysticism by naming their facilities for him.

Titus Brandsma was beatified in 1985 for his sacrificial opposition to Nazi policy in occupied Holland during WW II. Interrogated and arrested, he was eventually sent to the infamous Dachau death camp in July, 1942, where he died having given powerful Christian witness to all prisoners, Jews and non-Jews alike.

Today it is his photograph that visitors to Dachau see to commemorate the 1400 priests executed there.

LET HIS MESSAGE BE HEARD!

The Titus Brandsma Committee in the US is charged with telling his story to churches, prayer groups, retreat houses, schools, etc. Whether or not he is canonized, as some expect, his prophetic message and deep spirituality have great contemporary relevance. Titus is a gentle and steadfast reminder of God’s desire for humankind and our ability to respond, even in the face of great tragedy and oppression.

In order to make Blessed Titus Brandsma known to a wider audience, the Committee is making available a group of speakers who are knowledgeable about him and eager to discuss the meaning of his life. Our speakers come from different geographic areas and include members of the Carmelite family, as well as non-Carmelites. In addition to English, speakers are also available for Spanish, German, Portuguese and Dutch audiences.

Assure the success of your next seminar by offering a dynamic presentation around a fascinating topic.
